KV Mechelen is the most successful soccer club in Mechelen that currently plays in Belgian first class soccer. It was founded in 1904 with a catholic profile. There is a rivality between this club and another popular city club which bares the name Racing Mechelen, a socialist soccer club founded about the same time.

There are plans to build a new stadium for KV Mechelen, but the location is still unsure.
